General Chat / Car Ferries

Worried about ground clearance for my 595 when using car ferry ramps. The breakover angles can sometimes be severe. Anyone had any problems with this?.

General Chat / Abarth 595 mpg
« on: July 02, 2015, 08:11:51 PM »
I guess miles per gallon isn't much of an issue as we buy Abarths for fun and not for economics. Just out of interest, what do you guys generally get from the 595 Turismo (160 bhp). I drove very gently for the 1st 1000 miles, keeping revs below 3000, and got a consistent 40 mpg. Now using up to 4000 rpm, and enjoying the acceleration a bit more, and the mpg has dropped to 32.

Questions / Removing epoxy resin
« on: June 06, 2015, 10:11:58 PM »
I know I'm being very picky, but a small amount of epoxy resin has bubbled out where the rear deflector is bonded to the roof. Is there any easy and safe way to remove it, or should I refer it back to the dealer?. I have the triple coat paint finish, with Autoglym paint protector.

General Chat / Oil change on new Abarths

I have always changed oil and filter on all my new cars after first 6 months, regardless of mileage. Does anyone think this is necessary on a new Abarth?.

Introductions / Glorious day to collect a new Abarth 595 Turismo.
« on: June 04, 2015, 09:34:13 PM »
Perfect weather to collect my new 595. Warm sunny and clear dry air. So pleased with the Cordolo red body colour. Looks fantastic in the sun. Such a deep lustre, with a shimmering sparkle. Needed the MTA box as my wife only has an auto licence. The fully auto gear changes are terrible, but in manual mode (paddle shift changes) it is really satisfying to drive. Taking it very easy as I intend to keep this car for a long time. Spent 10 mins cleaning the bugs off the front end after my first drive. Never done that with any other car. Can't wait to get out again tomorrow.
