AOC at Bicester Sunday Scramble - 23rd April 2017
« on: February 02, 2017, 10:14:49 PM »
In January a number of us attended the first Bicester Sunday Scramble of 2017, and feedback was universally positive. Scattered around this fascinating site, there were cars of every type that you've heard and quite a few that you've perhaps not, as well as open access to many of the restoration businesses that are now housed on site. Car Clubs had their own area and we had a great corner spot meaning that the varied assembly of 500s, 595s, Puntos and 124 Spiders attracted lots of interest.

Now it's time for a repeat - but bigger. The next Sunday Scramble takes place on Sunday April 23rd. This is officially "Drive It" Day, when owners of classic and interesting cars are encouraged to take to the road in their cars. Last year the display at Bicester exceeded 1500 cars, so there will be plenty to see.

To take advantage of the special Abarth Owners Club pricing, which is offered to you at 50% of the regular price (£4.64 inc the booking/admin fee) and to ensure you can then park you car as part of our display, you need to buy your ticket in advance. This is done on the Bicester Heritage website: http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/events/  . When you get to the booking page, select the ‘Buy Club Member Vehicle tickets’ option. When you fill in the details, as you scroll down you will need to specify the Club that you are booking through. This is important as it allows the venue to track how many club vehicles to expect when planning the space for us.

Let's do our bit to make this an event bigger success than it was in 2016.

Think this is already on our calendar... will confirm later as still many uncertainties to overcome. Sounds great though. A

There is not a "Drive it" part of this event as far as I can tell...... "Drive It Day" is a nationally declared day when owners of classic and interesting cars are encouraged to get them out of hibernation, or off their drives and take them out on the roads to enjoy them and so others can see them, too.  That means that there tend to be all sorts of events around the country populated with interesting cars. I selected this one as it looks to amass one of the biggest number of cars - and because the location was such a hit with those who went in January.
