AOC at La Vita Rossa/La Vie en Bleu - Prescott - 27/28 May 2017
« on: February 07, 2017, 01:27:02 PM »
The latest event to add to your now rapidly filling diaries is at Prescott Hill Climb, in Gloucestershire about 5 miles north of Cheltenham. It takes place on the weekend of May 27th and 28th.

Such was the success of adding an Italian theme - La Vita Rossa - to the 10th edition of the popular La Vie en Bleu event at Prescott in 2016 that this will be repeated in 2017. So for a whole weekend as well as a celebration of all things French at the Bugatti Owners Club in the picturesque setting on the slopes of the Cotswolds, there will be a strong Italian theme. Whilst the sight and sound of Bugattis from the Type 13 Brescia and Type 35s of nearly 100 years ago as well as the far more modern EB110 and Veyron make this a special  event, who can forget the spectacle when owner Duncan Pittaway fired up the legendary "Beast of Turin", a 1912 Fiat S76 Record Breaker, which proceeded to spit flames out from its massive 26 litre aero engine. And once he'd swallowed another brave pill or two, he thrilled everyone by taking up the hill several times during the weekend.

Much of the Italian and French ambience comes from the massive display of Owners Club cars, and that is where we come in. We need to assemble as many Abarths as possible to ensure that Italy outnumbers France!

To be able to park in the Orchard with the other display cars you need to quote the promotional code ITA17, which will ensure you get a car display pass. You can either buy your tickets online, at: https://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/events/tickets/la-vie-en-bleu-2017 or by calling the Bugatti Owners Club office on Tel: 01242 673136 and quoting the reference code.

Note that this year there will be no separate marque parking areas, with all Italian cars in one block. Thus to get our cars all together we will need to convoy into the site. I will post details about a rendez-vous location nearer the event.

Count me in for both days Colin. Last years event was the very best by far with the addition of Italian cars, for anybody that has never been to an event at Prescott Hill you really must try it out s it is a brilliant setup.

As all Italian cars will be parked in order of arrival, the only way to get our Abarths together is to convoy in. Our rendez-vous point will be at The Shutters Inn, which is on the right, just as you enter Gotherington from the A435 Chelt - Evesham road. (there is plenty of space there, but I suspect everyone else will have the same idea!) We will leave there no later than 9am, so if you make it in time, great, otherwise, please make your own way to Prescott (which is 5 minutes from this mtg point)......... post code for those who want to look it up is GL52 9EY.
