Brake Fluid
« on: March 04, 2015, 07:39:15 AM »
Was hoping for some help relating to volume needed to change brake fluid, is a 1 litre can of ATE racing going to be enough?

thanks you,

I will be due a brake fluid change next month so this interests me as well. Is there any upgrade out there regarding the type of brake fluid to use, anyone know?

1 litre will be more than enough :)

Handbook gives volumes for brake fluid in weights, which is 0.5kg..  So a 1 litre can will be enough for a change plus any subsequent top ups.

Also, make sure you use DOT 4 - or another glycol based fluid :)

Changed my own recently with this brake fluid, works perfectly and 1L is enough for the job. Make sure you order two cans of engine oil if you are going to do that also, I made the mistake of only ordering one and realized my mistake later on, had to pay nearly 10 in delivery when it would have been free had I ordered both of them together :D

Hey Brian,

2 cans, so 4 litres?

what oil do you use? Is it Selena Pure Energy 5w40?

Link to 2litre can, probably worth paying the extra 5 for 5 litres for top ups.

That would be engine oil not brake fluid.

Just make sure you get the correct engine oil for your engine as I was given 10w50 for my APE instead of 5w40 !!!! Do not be fobbed of.

Any difference in getting Abarth Selena over any offer 5w40 High performance oil, something like Fuhs Titan SuperSyn 5w50?
