Soft top - replacing tail lights
« on: January 05, 2016, 12:13:28 PM »
I want to replace the tail lights with the darker red (see 595girlie's thread) but the seller has told me that they won't fit a cabrio without cutting away some of the plastic.

After watching this video, I see what he means https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojB8G5evx6s

My back lights look like this:

rather than this:

Has anyone with a cabrio replaced their back lights and was it difficult?

Hi I did mine, its so easy, you need a small 4" grinder with any disc on it. It cuts into the plastic so easiely honest

Ok Guys I going to trust you and have ordered them! The exchange rate kills at the moment.  :o

I know none of the tools suggested but do have a somewhat useful husband and a very useful handy man so I am sure one of them will be able to help.

Thanks guys for the thread.  I will print all this out.  I have read about having to file away some of the bulb surround also as bulbs were blowing.  Any advice on this?
