Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Re: Abarth 695 Rivale-175 Limited Edition
« on: November 20, 2017, 04:43:42 PM »
Wow another "special" edition  ::)

Yaaaaaawwwwwwwwnnnnnn

Another parts bin special and I think the Rivale is hideous. The Biposto is the only car that deserves to wear the 695 badge.

I like my 695 XSR thanks.

Canít recall, thought it might have been Partsworld but just looked and not there. Think it was part of the Biposto kit. Iíll keep surfing and post if I find it again.

Found one! :)

Nice, but a tad over fussy for me. And all that money and you just get standard Fiat 500 headlamps.

Not having xenons on the XSR is the main gripe for me. The standard lights are awful.

Apparently you can also get an alloy cap for the water bottle too, and I bet that brings similar perfection issues. Good luck my friend... A

Really? Any idea where? I love my fuel and oil cap.

Had to zoom in a little, but that picture does seem to show xenons.

Agree with Neil, I'm always polite but should always be firm with the dealer. Nothing annoys me more than a dealer lying (or just being careless with what they do or do not know. I was told the XSR had Brembo as stranded for example when it didn't) or acting like they are doing you a favour.

At the end of the day, there are other dealers and ultimately other cars.

I'll also throw in and say battery, modern cars (not just Abarth) can be very touchy with battery and it's my first go to area for a problem like this.

Just wanted to say I feel your pain with Abarth dealers. Mine has been an utter pain and it's made me question if I'll buy another Abarth after this one (don't get me wrong I love the car itself). I'm on my 2nd Abarth with them and they've been awful over a number of issues on both cars that have left me exasperated.

You know when you have to ask yourself "am I being difficult here? Am I being unreasonable expecting an answered email or returned call after 6 promises that they would to just simply sort out a car that was  scratched on their forecourt before I'd even been given the keys?". They screwed up my keys on my 595, screwed up the Elaborazione upgrade on my 695 and it's taken them 2 months to finally book in the car to fix the scratch and ripped side stripe they put in it before I'd even seen the car.

Here was I, thinking you'd  taken the tread off them so quickly ;D

Ha no not yet, although I'm not sure the they last that long from what I've read!
To be fair in the dry I think they are pretty solid but in the wet they are awful.  If I lived in a country where you'd expect sun for most of the year I'd keep them on.

(Although a tyres can be so subjective, I've seen reviews of the P Zero Nero comment on how they are good in the wet).

EDIT - Trying to talk myself out of Yokohama Advan AD08 which would be even worse in the wet, but so so so good in the dry. Would have to go for a 215/40 though.

Questions / Re: Carbon fibre exhaust tips
« on: November 01, 2017, 08:27:18 PM »
I\ve bitten the bullet and I'm going to put Gtechnic ceramic coating and hydrophobic on the car, I've had it before and it's fantastic. Car is going to get polished and detailed first and they are going to ceramic coat the carbon exhaust tips as well.

The problem is, you'll have zero warranty around almost all of the engine once it's done. If that's not an issue to you, go for it.

Have a question regarding the Akro exhaust, does the valve open when hitting the sport button, or is just a different engine note your because of the map change?

Dealer thinks this was the case but I seem to know a lot more about the car than they do and it seemed like he was just going along with the idea.

Checked myself and it seems pretty clear that yes, the electronic value works with the sport button and itís not just the map change or later spinning turbo.

As you've seen the PS4's don't come in 205/14 17 size. I have the PS3's on my Comp and they're really good, especially in the wet when compared to the Pirelli.  A lot of people say the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is as good as or better than the Michelin.

Didn't know that about the PS4, that makes that choice easier, I'll take a look at the F1. Thanks for that.

Looking to replace the 4 Nero's on my XSR and can't pick. Anyone have anything to throw in on these two?

The PS4 isn't a direct replacement for the PS3 and while I can find plenty of thumbs up for the PS3 on the 595 I can't find much on the PS4.

Are you changing because you need to, or just want to?

The Nero's are awful mate, not dangerous or anything just not something I'd want to keep on personally. I thought for a while they were okay but I think the Koni's were fooling me into thinking the tyre was better than they are.

So want to to answer your question.
