Abarth Grande Punto / Gearbox Repair Questions
« on: October 20, 2017, 03:44:10 PM »
Hi, I'm hoping that someone with more technical knowledge will be able to help me.

My car has fallen to the dreaded M32 Bearing failure curse. I've taken it apart and the gears are completely gone but the housing and clutch seem to have survived.

My first questions is, is there an Vauxhall gearbox that could be a straight swap? If not are all the internals the same and I can just swap them into my housing?

Doesn't look that bad. Obviously bring styling cues from the 124.

Wish they had a photo of the rear to see the "more pronounced rear diffuser"

All that's left is for them to announce that it costs 5 grand more than the original.

Any of you off to Brooklands end of this month? Be good to see some other AGP as no other out my way.

« on: March 10, 2016, 11:37:40 AM »
After having her nearly 2 year I've finally decided to pull my finger out and get the alloys refurbed.

Problem is I can't decide on the colour I want. Whats everyone else's thoughts? Photo attached for reference.

With the car coming up to 95,000 miles the steering wheel has seen better days and now looking for a replacement.

Any one know of someone breaking a AGP?

Mine went at 85,000. Got it done at a Garage down the road for 650.00, that's fully fitted with Clutch, flywheel and bearing. Best to have it all done if you're having the gearbox apart anyway.

Have you tried Alfa-Shop based in Norwich? They stock genuine Alfa and fiat parts and a lower price and dealers. Here's their number 01603 426277.

Yeah 100mm should be fine, I think that's the size I got for mine.

And yeap, 28mm Plug is what you need.

I'll take a photo of mine when I finish work and post them on later.

I'm still planning on attending, see you all there.

Yeah it's just one of each that you need. You could also get some jubilee clips if replace the difficult to use fiat ones.

There is no performance gain or loss from this mod. Just makes it sound nice when you change gear ;D

I've had mine up to 130mph before I ran out of road. I was quite impressed as it didn't seem it was working that hard to get up there.

Forge does a BOV for the punto. But it's very expensive for what it is.

You can used you current valve, just change it from a recirculating system to a straight to atmosphere. I personal don't think it sounds too bad.

You'll need these bits....
