1959 Abarth Zagato intro
« on: February 19, 2016, 06:30:01 PM »
Hi all - thought I'd introduce myself and my new car. I'm the happy custodian of a 1959 Abarth Zagato, the beautiful Double Bubble.

I'm looking forward to bringing her to some shows this summer, and hopefully Silverstone Classic, so expect to meet a few of you fellow Abarthisti in due course. She'll also be on the Middle Barton Garage stand at Race Retro this coming weekend for those who happen to be coming by.

Cheers
Wes

Thanks Colin! iPhone pics don't really do her justice, but here's a couple of teasers. The last one was taken at the Ace Cafe in North London ... not sure about you, but I know which one I prefer!

Fantastico!

You know that we have a strong presence at Ace Cafe for Italian Night every month? Your car would be THE star of the evening were you to bring it along.

If you've not already done so, have a good look at the Events section to see what else we've got going on in 2016.

Thanks - I didn't know you were at Ace Cafe (I probably should have guessed), but will try to get to one in the next few months, on top of the other events. Looking forward to the weather turning so we can have a bit more fun ...

Thanks for the nice comments, all. Great to hear from like minded folks.

Prescott Hill has long been on the agenda, but I've not made it out there yet. If at all possible, I'll be there this year ... That said, and although I bought her as a driver rather than trailer queen, a 200 mile motorway round trip might test her cooling! It's easy to forget just how easy modern cars are to live with!

Absolutely beautiful! Welcome to the club :)

The colour suits it wonderfully.. I've only ever seen red ones before!

Thanks again, all. I've just heard that she's in place on the Middle Barton Garage / Auto Italia stand at Race Retro, so if you're planning on attending you'll be able to have a look.
Agree on the colour - it really pops in the sunlight and suits it better than the much more common red, in my opinion. It's not standard, however. It's actually a stock Maserati colour, straight off the shelf!
