HELP URGENT! SABELT SEAT RUNNERS
« on: January 21, 2017, 06:08:50 PM »
Hi, I've just took the car in for its mot and it's failed because the seat will not slide forward. I can see where it  has broke however where in the linkage does it lock and is there a way to release it so I can move the seat to get to the screws so I can remove the seat and get it fixed. Thanks

There are 2 tabs on the left/right of the seat just above the metal runners. Press these down to release the locking mechanism.

If the plastic side covers are fitted you will have to pull them to reveal the metal tabs (tab will unfortunately snap at the back but they can be  refitted).

I didn't know the car will fail its MOT if the sliding mechanism fails? I'd take it to another garage. There are people with fixed seats, how do these pass MOT?
