Abarths at Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Day: Sun 8th Oct 2017
« on: August 02, 2017, 12:12:40 PM »
Now an established part of the season's calendar, the Brooklands Autumn MotorSport Festival takes place on Sunday 8th October. It is one of the last big outdoor events of the 2017 season, and there's going to be lots to make it a memorable finale.

For many, this will be your first chance to see the Brooklands site restored back to how it was in its heyday in the 1930s, with the long start/finish straight that leads up to the banking. There will be lots of cars to see, too. Static displays of a very varied selection of competition cars from all ages will encompass Formula 1, F5000, CanAm, GTs, Touring cars, Group B rally cars and historic cars like the record breaking 1933 Napier Railton Ė holder of the outright lap record at Brooklands - will all be on show and the site will be filled with a variety of interesting road cars, with a decided Italian bias. Some of the competition cars will be put through their paces on the Mercedes-Benz World test track, and selected cars will also run up the demanding Brooklands Test Hill.

There will be a dedicated Abarth parking area.

As before, those with competition, special or interesting cars are invited to apply for a space in the Mercedes-Benz World track demonstration and everyone is invited to apply for a run up the Test Hill.  To apply for the track parade, you need to contact Phil Ward directly on mail@philwardevents.com Test Hill registration will be possible on the day.

You can purchase tickets in advance from: www.brooklandsmuseum.com

Hi Colin

Do you know where we will be parked? The ramp to the car park at Auto Italia was not accessible for some us? We were sent elsewhere as we were too low  :(

Hopefully this will not be the case here?

Too early tell at present, John. This event is nothing like as busy as the April one, and they do not use the area where we were allocated then, so there should be no problems. Last year we were on the approach to the banking, the year before we at the bottom of the hill by the entrance.

This all sounds good, I've not been to this event before so I think I need to make the effort.
