Ascari Tuning
« on: September 20, 2017, 11:15:04 AM »
Hey guys,

Has anyone used these guys for a Re-map to your Abarth?
http://www.veloces.co.uk/performance

They've offered me a Ascari 695 Re-map which they claim can produce up to 180hp.
Any feedback appreciated.

What year and variant Abarth do you have? Gains are dependant on what turbo you have (IHI or Garrett) and also any supporting mods that may be required.
Their website doesn't go into any detail. Is it just a straight remap without any other changes?

Its a standard 2012 135hp Abarth. I've already had an Ascari Stainless Steel replacement exhaust fitted by these guys plus a K&N Air Filter.
I think 180hp is ambitious but I've been offered a deal at 240 as I have to go back as my tail pipes don't line up properly.
Seems a good deal?

I'm not an expert on the IHI but that does seems a bit over-optimistic. I think a realistic number is around 160ish on a remap only.

I had my Comp remapped by Tony at tune4performance in Watford. He really knows his stuff so I'd give him a call before you commit.

Could also try angel tuning, I'm roughly in the 180bhp mark or slightly above with the IHI, however I have 2.5inch cat back, forge like induction kit, forge actuator (tweaked) airtec intercooler, over boost to 1.3bar then settles around 1.2-1.1 bar

Forgot the guys name who remapped him but he also knows what his talking about and gives good advice on how to modify them, whats good whats bad etc.

Well guys, I went for the re-map.

OMFG what a difference !!
This is the note I got from them when I asked for the Tech Specs:
"We started with an EsseEsse map & then tweaked it 3 or 4 times. Effectively it is the same as a 695 tributo Ferrari map."
180PS (132kW/178hp) at 5750 rpm. Torque 250Nm.

So far I'm well happy.
Insurance Co (Admiral) have treated it as a no cost Mod for now. Let's see what the renewal price is at the end of November !

Has the car been put on a dyno to verify the figures? For information the Tributo Ferrari has the Garrett turbo.

No STEVIEJ. Its a totally wild claim TBH.

I got a very good deal as I had to go back to get my exhaust tips realigned,
The Mapper plugged his Laptop into my Car and 15 mins later he said it was complete.
For me, my standard Car has turned into a Rocket so I'm well happy.
My otherwise boring commute to work puts a smile on my face.

There was me thinking all was well until I couldn't shake off a BMW 120d on a short stretch of Dual Carriageway !
That was embarrassing  :(
