Service intervals?
« on: October 09, 2017, 09:12:56 AM »
Coming up to a year since delivery now, and just wondering what others have done re: servicing.  I've had no communication from the supplying dealer, and the car's not telling me anything about servicing - I've only done around 3,500 miles so probably not due.  I did an oil change myself at 1,500 (engine only) using oil and filter from the dealer, but didn't do an oil analysis.  Be interested to know what others have done.

As you were - as far as I can tell to the day the first year came up an orange spanner is now lit on the dashboard continually.  How very annoying - at least my BMW's service reminder goes off after a few minutes.
Booked in this week.

The servicing interval is:

9000 miles / 1 year - oil & filter change
18000 miles / 2 years - oil, filter, plugs & air filter change
and then they keep repeating in this sequence.

Not forgetting cambelt change at 5 years irrespective of mileage.

Good Lord, have they gone back to cambelts?  Hadn't looked that closely.  I did an extra oil change at 1500 miles:  it is a new engine, after all.

Mine says 12000 or 9 months, sounds a bit rip offey. ? Just traded in my 595 comp with full service history from a local dealer and made no difference to the trade in price, why pay the thieving bastards at Fiat? we all know you don't get any better service and as long as your local guy is vat registered  you are covered for warranty. If you trust your local garage use them.

Given that these days it's just a plug in to the diagnostic kit, the oil change is probably all you're paying for.  Dead easy to do yourself.  I keep a log book for each car as a full record of work I've done, but I suppose if you're concerned about values you probably have to pay the money.

Interesting though, my service light came on pretty much to the day at 12 months, not 9...

I don’t know if anyone else has found this yet but you can bring service information up on your screen.
Tells you how many miles till next service and also how long till next service.
