Replacement tyre advice please!
« on: November 07, 2017, 05:56:29 PM »
Hello everyone! I'm Victoria and I have a 2011 Abarth 500 and if I don't get new tyres soon I'm going to be in big trouble!  ; >:(  Problem is I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere. I need 195/45 R16 runflats, but they don't seem to exist. I currently have Continental ContiPremium Contact 2 , but they don't seem to be made in runflat any more.

I'm not clear if I can have reinforced rather than runflat? I've never come across them before, is there much difference? My other option is going up to a 50 profile, will that cause a problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

My only comment would be to consider the ride quality. Run flats are widely reported to create a harder ride. Now, given the hard suspension on Abarth, that might be less important than avoiding the perils from a blow-out. There are a few threads on the Forum discussing tyre choice that you may wish to consider alongside your search for run-flats. Just a thought... A
