MOT failed on Wheel bearing
« on: September 06, 2019, 01:36:45 PM »
MOT failed with "Wheel bearing rough when rotated Nearside Rear". They said that they cannot replace the bearings as it only comes as part of the hub and the said it would be 260 for parts and labour and VAT.

This sounds like bollocks. Are my feelings correct or can it only be done by changing the whole hub and this is this a fair price?

That is on the high side of price - a complete rear wheel hub for a pair is 50 max, replacing both rear hubs would take an hour (even if you don't know what you're doing)

You do have to replace the whole hub

Thanks, Took it to another place that i've used before (I would have used them first but the garage was closed for the holiday) and they quoted me 151 so going with them. My gut was right in this instance so wont be using that garage again.
